Scripture: Psalm 148, 2 Chronicles 24:17-24, Acts 6:1-7; 7:51-60

Questions/Thoughts: Today is known as the Feast of St Stephen (or Boxing Day, in some circles). Stephen was the first martyr. One of his duties was to care for the poor. One tradition on Boxing Day is to “box up” charitable gifts to donate. What are some types of gifts that can’t be “boxed up?”

Prayer:

O holy Child of Bethlehem,

Descend to us, we pray;

Cast out our sin and enter in,

Be born in us today.

We hear the Christmas angels

The great glad tidings tell;

O come to us, abide with us,

Our Lord Emmanuel!
