Getting back to my French roots

Yesterday (or was it the day before?) I read a review for a book that intrigued me. After reading as much of it as I could on Amazon, I decided that I needed to finish the book. Not wanting to spend any money on the book, I decided to see if the three libraries I have at my disposal could help me out. Turns out, this one could! Hooray! Since the book didn't seem to be at the library closest to me, I put in a request for it yesterday afternoon. This morning I had a voicemail saying I could come pick it up anytime. Woohoo! Talk about instant gratification.

Anyway. I've only read through the first chapter (again) so far, and really like it.

Hopefully in a couple days I will be able to tell you if it's worth the read.

(I think it probably will be).

Cold Beet Soup

Made some Lithuanian summer soup today. So good. Also, this marks my first blog post done from my phone. Not sure there will be too many of these...at least not any lengthy ones, unless I get the idea that carpal tunnel is a good thing. Anyway, here are some pictures of the soup. It is beautiful and tasty.

Just kidding. It looks like in order to post pictures from my phone, I need to get the Google+ app. No thanks.

Perhaps later I will figure out a more clever way to post the pictures.
